Cultural Pluralism in the Arts Movement Ontario (CPAMO) Ottawa Network invited immigrant, refugee and IBPOC artists to participate in an art showcase to highlight and celebrate diverse artists in the National Capital Region. This was an amazing opportunity to share art and for individuals to meet with peer artists and various arts organizations in Ottawa. This event was held outside at Parkdale Park in late september 2021

We welcomed creatives of all disciplines to join artists Jamaal Jackson Rogers, Laurena Finéus, and Melanie Yugo in a clinic dedicated to creating compelling CVs, blistering bios, and astounding artist statements. This workshop explored a high-level view of e-commerce for artists. Fiona Khaemba, Founder and Creative Director of Anaya Arts, presented through the perspective of the artist and platform-user. Shopify representatives also introduced participants to solutions, common practices, and tools to monetize their artistic work through online platforms, from the perspective of the service provider. Shopify staff also presented available opportunities for artists like the Digital Main Street program and a 6-week growth program to build artist sites.
